Julie Shugarman
LL.B Candidate, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa

Julie is involved in researching various conceptualizations of privacy with a specific focus on how different conceptualizations might undermine or protect the interests of historically marginalized groups. She is particularly concerned with the implications of treating privacy as an entitlement to which everyone has equal access. More broadly, Julie is interested in how both technology and the law might be used creatively as tools for social change. She has an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Women's Studies from Simon Fraser University and is currently in her third year of the English Common Law program at the University of Ottawa.
